Joanie Kriens

Co-creator

Joanie is a philanthropist and co-creator of 1440 Foundation, 1440 Multiversity, and the Canopy Cancer Collective. For more than two decades, she has worked with nonprofits helping students and educators increase self-awareness, reduce stress, and learn mindfulness. Her foundational efforts launched some of the first school-based social and emotional learning programs in the United States. In 2017, Joanie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. During her battle, she witnessed deep disconnects among patients, healthcare providers, and potentially life-saving trials. But with hope, innovation, and collaboration, cancer survivors can become cancer thrivers. That is “hope for living well.” That is Joanie's vision for Canopy Cancer Collective. Scott Kriens

Co-creator

Scott is the chairman and former CEO of Juniper Networks, and the co-creator of 1440 Foundation, 1440 Multiversity, and the Canopy Cancer Collective. He has been a leader in the technology industry for more than 35 years. In 1996, he co-founded Juniper, growing the company to $4 billion in global sales with more than 10,000 employees in 100 countries. Scott's focus on cultivating authentic leaders led to work at 1440 Foundation and the development of the Leadership Center at 1440 Multiversity. There he and teams focus on life's crucibles, understanding oneself, and building trust. At his core, Scott is a learner and a builder. With 1440 Foundation, he seeks new ways to tie the world around us to that which is real and powerful within us — whether for the purpose of building teams as a leader in the tech industry, or simply as an advocate for the path to living lives of true resonance.
