Dr. Carrie Stricker
Executive Director
Carrie is the Executive Director of the Canopy Cancer Collective. She has focused her career on developing, implementing, and scaling care delivery and digital health innovations to transform cancer care. Her career to date has included 17 years at University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Center as an oncology NP, Clinician Scientist, and Director of Clinical Programs in Cancer Survivorship, followed by seven years as Co-founder and Chief Clinical Officer of Carevive Systems, Inc. In 2020, she re-joined academia as an Associate Professor of Nursing at Thomas Jefferson University and Associate Director in the Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine's Digital Health track, and now retains her academic affiliation while serving as Canopy's executive director.
Carrie lives in the Philadelphia area and spends her free time sailing the open oceans and inland bays with her husband, teenage son, and dog Mabel.

Dr. Michael Pishvaian
Chief Medical Advisor
Mike Pishvaian is a translational oncologist, focused on improving the development of and access to novel therapies for patients, particularly in the areas of pancreatic cancer and refractory colorectal cancer. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncology at Johns Hopkins University, where he works in the Washington, DC National Capitol Region, leading the GI and Phase I programs there.
Dr. Pishvaian is recognized as a leader in the field of Pancreatic Cancer, particularly for his work in the area of precision medicine, and he has published over 100 articles. His scientific leadership roles include National Study Chair or Co-Chair of several large Phase II and Phase III trials in pancreatic cancer,, Alliance Co-Chair of the Pancreatic Cancer subcommittee, and Alliance member of the NIH Pancreatic Cancer Task Force. Mike is also a member of the Scientific and Medical Advisory Board for both Let’s Win PC and for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, where he serves as Vice Chair.
Mike lives in Maryland with his family and enjoys playing tennis, cooking, and gardening in his free time.
Willy Hoos
Cancer Research and Collaboration Lead
Willy is an entrepreneur, executive, and venture leader in healthcare innovation, and he leads Canopy Cancer Collective’s collaboration initiatives. Willy is also the chief commercial officer of xCures, a company focused on patient-centric oncology clinical trials. He founded and is chairman of ClinWiki.org, which provides crowdsourced clinical trial information. Willy has worked in oncology with for-profit and nonprofit organizations, advising numerous medical diagnostic, device, pharmaceutical, and patient advocate organizations globally on product development and market strategy. He lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with his wife and three daughters, occasionally getting the chance to golf, ski, or run.
Joanie Kriens
Co-creator
Joanie is a philanthropist and co-creator of 1440 Foundation, 1440 Multiversity, and the Canopy Cancer Collective. For more than two decades, she has worked with nonprofits helping students and educators increase self-awareness, reduce stress, and learn mindfulness. Her foundational efforts launched some of the first school-based social and emotional learning programs in the United States.
Scott Kriens
Co-creator
Scott is the chairman and former CEO of Juniper Networks, and the co-creator of 1440 Foundation, 1440 Multiversity, and the Canopy Cancer Collective. He has been a leader in the technology industry for more than 35 years. In 1996, he co-founded Juniper, growing the company to $4 billion in global sales with more than 10,000 employees in 100 countries. Scott's focus on cultivating authentic leaders led to work at 1440 Foundation and the development of the Leadership Center at 1440 Multiversity. There he and teams focus on life's crucibles, understanding oneself, and building trust. At his core, Scott is a learner and a builder. With 1440 Foundation, he seeks new ways to tie the world around us to that which is real and powerful within us — whether for the purpose of building teams as a leader in the tech industry, or simply as an advocate for the path to living lives of true resonance.
